SubSkins III

medialog.subskinsiii is a theme and a theming tool for Plone 3.x. The layout and its colours are customizable from a control panel.

Project Description

The idea behind subskins-iii is that everyone can customize their own theme (=how Plone look). It is partly a theming but can alsom be used as a theme.

The look of the site is done from the control panel. You can set the layout of every "part" of Plone and also choose colors.

New in this version is support for images based on color-scehmes.

Also, support for changin icon sets was added

This means that the layout of this:

blue_gn

Can turn into this:

Green_gn

By choosing another color scheme.

IMPORTANT:
1) PloneSubSkins needs to be inatalled (its on pypi)
2) If installing / trying out different preset themes (that is all themes that starts with subskins), uninstall all subskins_preset themes first.
3) If trying out subskiniii before trying out the preset-themes, save all selections at "none" in the control panel before installing a preset_theme
4) After installing a subskins_theme, you need to go to the subskins control panel and choose a colorscheme (the site will not look ok before you do)

That means you have to go to:

http://yoursite/portal_subskinstool/subskins_control_panel

and choose a colorscheme etc.

You probably want to have portal_css in debug mode while testing different setting.

Thanks to ErĂc Brehault

for wrinting  PloneSubSkins which can be used as a standalone product.
